Back when we camped, when the owner of the campground would mow hay, we would look for rain. Never failed, I think he thought it had to be washed for it to be baled. One year he let the Amish put his hay up and they never got a drop on it. Kinda made him feel bad so he let them put it up every cutting after that. We didn't know whether to look for rain or plan on enjoying a few days of good boating weather. This year it was so dry that I'm finally putting up my 2nd cutting and I should be completely done by now but I still have about 7 acres to mow next week. (supposed to get rain Tuesday now, it was Sunday then Monday probably won't get any at all) Our 2nd cutting is only producing less than half of what it should be but we should have enough if people quit buying it out of the field but I sure won't have any to sell at this rate. Oh well, it could be a lot worse so I'm happy to get it done before my hip surgery.

I soon found that it would be very useful to have a tractor around the place for things such as grading our long drive and brush-hogging the fields. I was also embarking on planting 1000 eucalyptus trees, and hence I would need a ripper, small disk plow, sprayer etc. to get these things accompli
