I did maybe 15-20 years ago, they were concerned and gave me the pills for a week or 10 days.
Really never noticed much from it, think it didn’t bother me much by day 3.
It was over an inch deep Probably 2 sticking out of a board I stomped down on (didn’t see the nail) and went into the front of the arch, didn’t come out the top. I figured it would hurt worse so I went in the barn and did chores before I took my shoes off cleaned up and went to the doctor. I’m not always the smartest I suppose.
Of course I got poked in the belly by a bull a couple years ago, tore an inch deep by 3 inch wide hole in my lower belly muscles, they were more concerned with that one. That took 3 months to heal, they said if I could take it without pain medication for 6-8 hours they could wait and see if I noticed any internal problems, otherwise they would want to go in and scope things out from inside. So I didn’t take any pain medication, after 8 hours they said you want some strong Tylenol I said well I’ve gone this far no point starting now, they let me out after 24 hours of drip antibiotic, couldn’t stitch me up or it would fester I had to pack it every 12 hours and let it heal itself from the bottom up. I made a deal with the doc that I could work a little if I stayed really clean and not take any pain medication, if it hurt stop doing what I was doing. So I was hauling my corn to the elevator 4 days later as the neighbor combined for me. The bumps in the road were a little tough, and getting up and down the tractor cab, but I never took anything for the ouch. Doctor kept shaking her head and saying you farmers you are a different bunch, But you always seem to do good, my pocket wound stayed so clean over harvest time they didn’t ever flush it out, said its looking so good with fresh healing they didn’t want to disturb it.
