I have found clay litter to be the same as commercial Material. The main thing is never get clumping anything (for that purpose). I have found that doing the "Twist" on some new Oil dry, when the first batch has gotten 95% of the oil absorbed works wonders on the stain. It seems to both cover some from turning it to dust, and actually absorbing more due to the better contact at that scale of particle size. Jim
