Our first remote had ultrasonic doorbell chimes that went "Tunk" "Tunk" when pressed. It actvated a motor with chain drive that turned the channel's rotary tuner knob.
COLOR TV it was the show bonanza
those early sony's could take the end of a screwdriver off discharging the HV circuit
trinitrons weigh a ton
first cable box had a rotary tuner knob
I did free to air and tracked satellites for a while
hacked satellite providers for a while (all 1000 channels free)
I watched PlutoTV yesterday
I stream now mostly and the monitor is big screen size
