Let us use a bit of logic here. What is on the other side of the spark plug? The combustion chamber. There is usually NO OIL in the combustion chamber unless you have a completely worn out set of rings. So, if there is no oil on the other end of those threads, how could it possibly be leaking past them?
Putting any type of thread sealer on spark plug threads is simply not useful. The seal is made by either a tapered seat or a gasket. NOT the threads.
