I agree,JMYT. If what he has was a John Deere (I know a LOT less about collectable Farmalls than I do John Deeres) say from that vintage--an AH or a GH for example. Assuming it ran, was complete, but was unrestored, he could trade an AH for a perfectly good 2440-2840 utility tractor with loader (Call it worth $12-15,000). If it was a GH, he could likely get a nice 50 or 55 series utility tractor---a 2355 even. If whe you had was a RESTORED AH he could get a nice nearly NEW 5400. If it was a restored GH, make that a 6400!($35,000+) I think that he could easily find a collector who would gladly trade him for a much newer, and much more capable, IHC or Farmall (if that's what he likes) for that MV. I am unsure as to how high MV prices are, but they HAVE to be greatly higher than the value of what he's proposing to turn it into.
