On a serious note, old tractors and equipment tend to have battery discharge problems. Some times it's a parasitic current thru wiring insulation, others it's a voltage regulator problem. The best solution is to install a battery disconnect switch. Disconnected batterys tend to stay charged. The switch is also a very handy thing on an old machine in the event of an electrical fire, and for the cost of the switch, you may save a tractor from a burndown.
