Surprise! It's raining in western Washington! Actually, it's been pretty dry since spring (a few showers, but not enough to raise the rivers), so its nice to get a root soaker. Gas is $1.50 for regular, highway diesel $1.33. We're spoiled- fuel is usually lower here than elsewhere, but the reverse is true at present. Apparently the refineries are communicating better with each other around here, so as not to produce enough to bring down prices. Meanwhile, FTC has just approved merger of Texaco and Chevron, so competion just took another hit. Apparently someone repealed the Sherman Anti-trust Act while we weren't looking.
