Don't know about where you're from but here in Kansas it's $5,000 per incident. It could easily be more than $50,000 total. We have a couple here in KC on both sides of the line that are in deep. They were giving receipts showing twice as much gas being pumped at half the price trying to cover their backsides. One lady was told to stop pumping gas just so they could raise prices... Most stations here were around $1.59 to $1.64. These guys were charging $4.99 and $5.59 per gal. just because they could. The law is stating that if you have a reason to raise your prices, then you are justified in doing so. If not and you just decide to raise prices for the heck of it... expect trouble. A bunch of folks around here took notice of which stations raised the prices and they will find it hard to get customers back.
