From the "dumb stuff I've done and lived to tell about" file: Properly adjusted trailer brakes are really important. You can have your load on right and still get in trouble without brakes. Most vehicles will pull way more weight than they will stop. The saying goes "God looks after fools and small children". But I don't think we need to try to see if he is looking all the time.
