My first sentence said if you already had a good mower a caddy would be the way to go.
There's 2 different styles of caddies, ones that lift the mower and ones that don't, different mowers require different caddies. I guess one could get a caddy that lifts and not use the lift if it's not needed, but I'm only guessing.
Transport width is important to me on our narrow county roads, another reason I wanted a mower 9 ft or less, I can meet traffic and neither of us has to pull over to the side, those following can also pass if they want.
I get highly irritated at those pulling 10ft+ wide machines down the highway that never look back or pull over on occasion to let traffic by.
Got behind one like that a few weeks ago, they pulled over for oncoming traffic but not once did them pull over to let the 1/4 mile plus backup behind them go by in the 4 miles we followed them.
