I am going to start another post to add to rrlund's post about wearing/needing sunglasses, because I think there is an important ISSUE you may be overlooking. You may have cataracts,OR, macular degeneration. Both can cause the light sensitivity. But if you ignore it,you can have big problems. It is better to catch these problems early, while they can more easily fixed. If you have good vision, you may never have gone to an eye doctor for a checkup,BUT,everyone needs to go! I have had bad eyesight all my life; since age 8 I have worn glasses. I later wore contact lenses, and have even had lasik corrective vision surgery. Last year I had a vitreous tear in my right eye,and had to have surgery. That surgery accelerates the growth of cataracts, and then I had to have cataract surgery. My eyes have always been sensitive to light, and I have worn sun glasses since I was an adult. ALWAYS WEAR GOOD SUNGLASSES THAT ARE UV PROTECTIVE AND POLARIZED. CHEAP SUNGLASSES ACTUALLY CAUSE YOUR PUPIL TO OPEN WIDER,AND LET MORE UNFILTERED SUNLIGHT INTO YOUR EYE,WHICH IS WHAT CAUSES DAMAGE. I have spent way too much time in eye doctor's offices:do not take your eyes for granted.Mark.
