First off they are far from ignorant they are almost all far better educated then I am and have made a whole lot more money. And how am I fleecing them? I guess you think so by me getting the hay to cut for free.Their other alternate in my area is to pay someone about $75 hr to cut their fields off and then pay a full rate on their real estate taxes.Plus most really like the looks of the fields after I cut them with a sickle bar mower and bale up the hay.By me cutting their fields for hay I get the hay but they get to save a pile on real estate taxes because I take a crop off their land.Just finished filling out the paper work for over a half dozen of them last week as it had to be in by Sept 1st.Its a good situation for both of us a couple people actually charge the landowners here to cut their hay and then still get the hay.I turn down free hay to cut every year because I make about 2X what I need now. These people live on a whole different economic scale than most farmers I know know and most of them don't hesitate to pay for what they want, like one of the places I cut the fellow that owns it was telling me about spending the early part of the Summer on his place in Southern France very interesting guy and the nicest fellow you ever met.
