Well the real free travel is 5/8th of and inch and the rest of the adjustments BY THE BOOK were fine when they were NEw, NoW they are extremely field tested and every point on the tractor has ware and the BY THE BOOK does not work out well . . Now like Pete said you may have finges not setting even , ya may have a damper spring that came out and now wedged in the pressure plate , ya may have slipped the clutch a bit tomuch . . Drop the inspection cover off that have a look . Do like Pete said with the rope trick ( myself i have never done that as i usually have someone standing around watching and have them do the clutch pushy thing for me) .
