Could be a hidden tile hole. When I was in the tiling business, the landowner/operator and I went to look at a tile problem he had in his field. He said don't get too close so we parked about 50 ft. away. Just as we were getting out of the truck, the front of the truck drops down in a hole to the frame. Front wheels were just hanging there. Had to walk about 1 1/2 miles to get back to the farm and get a tractor. This was in the days before cell phones. Ended up digging with the excavator about 1/4 mile of tile that had washed out under the top of the ground, but there was only one hole showing. Surprised him and me both. This was a 15" tile that had gone bad. We replaced the whole tile across his farm, about 4800 ft'. Had to take the dozer out to scrape up enough dirt to fill the trench. That was an expensive tile repair. Never forget that day, wish I had pictures.

Jon's Allis has a small front loader and though it doesn't carry much, it serves his needs. It was the hard starting and low power that made him think it was time to replace the old girl. Jon called me to help him discover why his tractor wouldn't start
