I built my pole barn with one foot eves and no rain gutters. The last thing I want to do at my age is get 10 ft off the ground and clean gutters. So I lined the sides of barn with flowers. The yellow irises are different than many. The roots can be in water 24/7 and not rot. Can be planted on the edge of a lake or pond. I call them water irises, really don't know what else to call them. The bloom will develop seeds. Some seeds fall in lake and next year you never know where you will see another flower. They will also grow in dirt.
Notice how clean the siding is, no water splashing dirt on siding.
BYW, they are just starting to bloom while some are just about to stop blooming.
If you are wondering, I was a child of the 60's, but not a flower child. I was never a part of that group. Just love flowers. geo.
