: A friend has just aquired a farmall model 1-A and I am trying to help him get some information on thus tractor. It appears to have the original paint which is yellow, and the front end appears to be heavy duty. It does not have a PTO and it has a foot throttle. Otherwise it looks like any other model A. The serial number is 1aa196351. My s/n book contains no info on this model. Can anyone give me any info on this tractor and would it be considered rare? This tractor is not a Farmall. It is an International A, I-A not 1-A. It is the industrial version of the A. It came standard with 8.00-24 diamond tread rear tires rather than regular lugs. Optional rear tires were 9.00-24 and 10.00-24 diamond tread tires. Other than the foot accelerator, most everything else on the International A was the same as the Farmall A. Your friend's would be a 1947. They were in the same serial number series as the A, AV, B, and BN. I don't know how many I-A's there were but it was not nearly as many as the F-A's. Perhapse Guy Fay knows what small persentage were I-A's. Harold H
