brayans2020: You should check the key switch out when you check your harness. I have had them not send power to the regulator so the charging system is dead from no supplied power to the regulator. You need to get a wiring diagram and see which wire does what when the key is turned on. I have not had a wiring issue in a JD 2020 for years so I can't tell you without a diagram in front of me.
Your tractor came with two batteries side by side with a JUNK short positive cable going under the clamp bolt of the positive that went to the starter. Then both batteries grounded with the braded cables to the firewall/dash panel. You can now get the positive cable in one piece with the two ends made on the singe cable. I prefer using two cables one from each battery terminal to the starter solenoid and then two individual ground cables going down to the starter mounting bolts. The tractor will crank 50% better. Really noticeable in cold weather starting.
Nice looking tractor. The JD 2020 was a real powerhouse on the PTO. We had a neighbor that ran the silage blower with his. It really worked well for its size.
