The front patch normally for the past couple year gave me 30 or slightly more small square bales. I cut about half one evening after the guessers called for three days without rain. I checked again just before going to bed that night and they had changed the forecast to rain for the next five days. They were right on the second forecast. I have some where around 7 inches of rain on the down hay. I ran it thru the crimper six times and raked it last night. It was good and dry when I came home from the plant. I just put 20 bales on the trailer to take up to the plant to store for bedding. I took one way long bale up to the north shelter and ripped it apart for bedding. shook out like straw. The crimper has it broke up and soft. I cut the rest last night and ran it thru the crimper twice this forenoon. Probly rake it Friday morning and bale Saturday. I am sure I would have got over 60 bales off the whole patch if it wasn't for all the rain.

Jon's Allis has a small front loader and though it doesn't carry much, it serves his needs. It was the hard starting and low power that made him think it was time to replace the old girl.
