The Model 110 and 111 Savages with the accu trigger are darn good guns for the money. They are tack drivers, too. The .270 is a good all around caliber for most big game hunting. With a good premiun controlled expansion bullet they make a decent elk gun as stated below as long as you use your head taking your shots. Another advantage to the .270 is that you should be able to find ammo about anywhere on the planet you care to hunt. $250 isn't a bad price. I wouldn't hagle too much on that. If it doesn't have the accu-trigger, then I'd not feel bashful about offering a bit less.
