Years ago when I painted for a hobby, I had a toilet paper filter. Air went through toilet paper to dry. The filter was factory made too.
I used 50 ft of 1/2 copper inside the freezer of old refrig. The cold air condensded moisture. The other side of my 50 ft copper still went to a regular filter, which filled quickly on humid days. Then air went to TP filer.
I rent out the building I had my paint booth, but it worked as planned.
When I paint tractors, do it when it's cooler and less humidity. My air lines are iron pipe, drop legs, stone air filters does a good enough job.
I could go get my TP filter and still. It was connected to a 5 hp compressor which got used almost non stop when I was doing body work. If you didn't keep moisture out of air, it would come out pneumatic tools and contaminate surface.
Now I prefer to use electric sanders, electric grinders, electric impacts over pneumatic. Just use air to paint, so moisture isn't much a problem anymore.
