I purchased the DeeZee tool box on truck in 2007. This winter was very cold, which may have nothing to do with anything, but over the winter the gas struts on crossover box lost their poop.
The OEM struts are 15 inches and 40#. For the same price I can get 50#. Kicking around the idea of getting stronger ones hoping they will last longer. Any ideas? Is there a strut that is a spring only that will last longer? I'll bet that my struts lost a little gas, because with warmer temps, they can just about hold the lid open. In the winter no way.
I can get a pair of 15 inchers for $30, shipping included. Anyone have a cheaper source?
