I can relate. My appendix burst in 97. The fever,drugs,weight I gained during the long recovery,it aged me at least 10 years. My memory is nothing like it was before. I had no desire to milk cows anymore when it was all over with. I quit in leadership of the milk co-op and started making plans to quit milking. We even made several trips to the Ozarks looking at ranches. I was willing to move down there if I had to so I could quit milking. It was a dozen years before I could even remember enough to get back on stage as the story teller in local shows. It's tough and can happen a lot faster than you think.
