We've had a bunch of snow over the past week, the most we've had since we've lived here. Some of the old timers tell me it's the worst they ever seen. It's right in the middle of calving for a lot of folks so it does't help when the temperatures go below zero and we have windchills in the 20 to 30 below. There was even an avalanche in Missoula yesterday that destroyed a house and buried three people. Fortunately they were rescued and survived.(See link below) We are fortunate not to have the high winds where we are at but friends a five miles away have 8 foot drifts in the driveways and are unable to get out of their homesead. I've spent the last few days blowing snow and plowing the driveways and blowing lanes in the pastures so I can feed the cows. We'll start calving in about a month so I hope Spring gets here soon.
