Another one I heard was if you, as a farmer is critisized by anyone you should say to them "Don't talk with your mouth full". A friend of mine who used to be a farmer was approached by a guy one Friday night in his local pub (bar)the guy had obviously had more booze than he could handle and he was doing his utter best to bad-mouth the farmers that had gone in there for a quiet pint of beer after working hard all week on the land. As he ranted and raved my friend walked up to him , looked at him straight in the eye and said "And when was the last time you had to queue for a loaf of bread!" That shut him up.
