JD I know what being the care taker is all about. My wife battled cancer for 8 years. She had 11 surgeries in those 8 yrs. She would be down for 6 to 10 weeks at a time and on some form of chemo at all times. All the while trying to raise 3 boys and make it to all of their sporting events. I used to get mad as he!! at everything and everybody, even at God. Didn't do one bit of good. Only got my blood pressure up and made my wife feel guilty for being sick. It was not her fault that she was sick.
I don't have any words of wisdom other than to say I am sorry for what you are going through. Make sure your wife knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that you love her. I know us men think that doing all the house work and bathing her and changing sheets and all the other things care takers do shows her our love but she needs to hear it. She needs to be hugged and kissed and held in your arms and told. My wife died on Aug 31. I would give anything to hold her one more time. Sometimes us farmers or farmers at heart get caught up with the task of care taking and forget what is really important. Pour your heart out on her and to her. She needs to hear your thoughts and fears as well. I know all that stuff sounds mushy and it is but it is far more important than dishes and laundry. When she feels and hears your love she will fight like none other.

Jon's Allis has a small front loader and though it doesn't carry much, it serves his needs. It was the hard starting and low power that made him think it was time to replace the old girl.
