Jdb, I have a Big Bud Pro Bounty Hunter. I bought it back in 1986 or 1987. I paid $600 for it. I looked at some new ones a few months ago and you can get a good one for about $300 now. New technology too! I found a lot of items at the large camp sites at camp grounds. Many people think you"ll find coins at old farm places, but like my mom and dad always said farmers never had any money years ago. I used my detector in a friends fenced yard in town and found all sorts of coins. Some silver quarters. I held on to all my silver that I found with my metal detector for almost 17 years and cashed it all in about two months ago. I got 20 times face value for each sliver coin. Old churches is a good place to go too. Years ago they had church picnics at the church and played bingo with pennies and dimes. Then you had the congregation after mass that always stood outside the church and would talk while rattling their change in their pockets. IF you buy a metal detector you"ll have fun with it. Don"t get discouraged if you don"t find any thing for the first few times you take it out. It takes a while to learn its sounds, just like a new born baby...LOL! My booklet said, "If you"re not digging up any trash you"re missing a lot of good finds".
