The more surge portectors you have oplugged in the better. you home wiring is a big parellell circuit, the more surge protectors you add the more protection you have. ie more joules of transient volotages will be shunted to ground. with that said it is also true that surge progtectors will do little to protect from a direct lightening strike. but they are worth the money/ I have so much surge protection in my office that on a big surge it will trip the breakers to that room. I also have UPS on all my computers and electronics.
