I do not like the price of fuel also but sometimes just wonder what the big problem people have with it.
People in general (maybe not you but in general) spend money on things they do not really need everyday. They have houses that are 1000 sq ft bigger than needed; have real wood floors and all the add ons. Every time they get a little equity in their home loan they refinace to add a pool or hot tub. They have cars with heated seats; power everything; and way bigger than needed. Try buying a regular cab pickup straight off the lot as most pickups now have to have 4 doors to sell. They have to have every modern gadjet that comes out. Fancy cells phones; ipads; and gps because they need a machine to tell them the way home.
We complain about speculators or the goverment raising the price of fuel but if the same changes our pocket book we have no problem. Take the high price of corn from forced ethanol use as one example.
The price of fuel does not seem to change how people drive. They are still as crazy as ever and waste fuel every time they leave the house. It has not changed what they buy because I see people all the time with all their gas powered toys.
But let the price of fuel go up or down a few cents and it makes national news.

An improperly torqued capscrew on an engine head or a shear bolt that is too hard on the driving shaft of a bushog can create havoc and make an expensive and uncalled for repair. Let’s examine the purpose and design of these fasteners in order to ensure their proper use. Fasteners are probably one of the aspects of mechanics that is given the least amount of thought.
