For what it's worth, a news segment on tv reported that right now the oil speculators are making $10.00 per barrel profit. A barrel of oil is 42 gallon.
Rusty is right. The prices are for the most part driven by the speculators and not supply and demand. The news report also reported that alot of the tank farms are filled to capacity with gas owned by speculators.
I wish I could remember the news agency that did the story.
