: I have a Allis Chalmer combine bought by my Grandpa new in~ 1942. Stored inside always and not used since 1964. Are they very common and is it possible to get duplicate Owners manual? Also, where would one look for a new serpentine belt? What is the approx value of a combine like this in good condition? Thanks. : Mike in Michigan mike i own a 72 all crop .this combine was last used 2 years ago.these were the best of the best .the worst all crop is still better than the newest jd. the are still plenty of used ones out there for parts & many dealers have & can still get parts for them .no matter what some say it is at least as valuble as its parts.dont let yourself be conned into selling a good machine for scrap.it is sacreligous. if you are not pushed into moving it you can restore or sell it .a fair one cango for $100-1000.00.these are an excellent machine for small grains &clover&small seeds.the fact they were availlable to 1970's should tell you something.all that you asked for is still available somewhere.there are many used parts (junkyards) around &older dealers who can help you.there is a decent magazine called old allis news.and many old farmers & enthusists around.if any thing i could make you a copy of one of my old manuals &send it to you.if you have the heart then the rest of it will come.get the book old tractors & the men who love them by roger welsch or his new book busted tractors and rusty knuckles and you are on your way.if ican be any help dont hesitate.i have farmed with them and operated 6 row combines i'm no expert if thier is such a creature ,but i've been around the field a few times.good luck and god bless.
