I have lived in this area for my entire life.
Less than 1 mile from my house, there is a very unassumeing house. Never gave it a 2nd thought.
Yesterday, my dad called me and said "son, you have never seen so much equip in your life" They were having an auction today, so I rolled out there and found literally hundreds of acres of old tractors, implements, and every other thing you can imagine. Most of it had been there are least 30 years, as the size of the trees. They had to cut trees out of most of the equip to get everything out. Some of the tractors were overgrown so much, that you could not even see a tractor in there.
I literally never found the end of it. I walked for a good 2 hours, and still didnt see everything.. Through ditches, gullys, fields, ect. There was stuff stuck everywhere. If there was a bush, look closer, there was a tractor in there.
Sadly, there really was not anything there that was unique, or not totally worn out. But still, it was a sight to behold.
Things were selling for pretty good $$.
A John Deere MT went for about $1500, a running 4020 went for about $4000, ect.
From what I understand, the man that owned the place, would buy all the worn out equip from local schools, units used for groundskeeping and what not.
I didnt have my camera, so I just snapped a few pics with my phone

It’s amazing how a little floor jack can lift tons and tons of weight with just the flick of a handle. What’s even more amazing is that all the principals of hydraulic theory can be wrapped up in such a small package. This same package applies to any hydraulic system from the largest bulldozer to the oldest and smallest tractor. This short series will take a look at the basic layout of a simple hydraul
