The trick is to cut out a rectangle hole in cardboard. Get the rounded corners to fit snug with the tank. Then cut the cardboard down till it's the same width as the hood.tape the cardboard on the hood. Trace around the hole and then start cutting. I leave material in the corners and use chain saw files to round the corners. Nothin to it!
