Well first off lets start with getting ALL the clutch adjustments done First since there is more to it then just adjusting the CLUTCH . First ya adjust the free travel on the clutch , then ya adjust the transmission brake , then ya adjust the DUMP valve . If you have never done this before and have no idea on what your doing you need a BOOK and you can also search back back thru the archives as i have gone over this many times . Yes a 1086 is a little different then a )6-66 sires but not that much . Next off there is NOTHING in any I H transmission of those years that is a syncro . AND gears will grind , now IF your are good at double clutching and can chew bubble gum and walk across the street rubbing your tummy and patting your head all at the same time then you can shift a I H tractor with out grinding gears .
