Make sure you're getting a full flow of gas from the tank to the carburetor. Hold a clean container to catch the gas. If there's just a trickle of gas you have blockage in the tank.
If you have a full stream of from the tank remove the tube fitting at the carburetor where the gas line connects. There may be a screen behind the tube fitting filled with crud. If that looks ok your carburetor probably needs cleaning and all the jets blown out. If you haven't replaced the points lately I would replace them and the condenser. Take a good flashlight and look in the fuel tank for any crud that may be blocking the outlet. Hal
