I have a 1952 Super AV (High Clearance)tractor with an original Draw bar with the original drops for the draw bar for the AV. Everything seems correct for the high clearance drawbar as shown in my owners manual. My problem is how do you hook the plow up (IH single bottom 14). I turned the drawbar backwards (180 degrees) so that it is basically under the tractor. The problem is when I bolt the plow to the drawbar, it seems too far under the tractor, it would throw the dirt on the tractor tire. Seems about two feet forward too much. The chain on the plow will not even reach the arm on the tractor. Do I have to do something special for a high clearance tractor? Any help from someone that has used a setup like this, or information from a plow manual would be greatly appreciated. If someone does know how to hook up the plow, once the plow was back in the proper position, how do you adjust it so that it will dig in before you have the first farrow? I am used to using more modern equipment a three point and you adjust the arm of the tractor and the three point to get started plowing and then adjust it again once you get the tires in the farrow.
