I had a problem with my 48 SA overheating. I read on this board a while back about crud building up in the block because of the thermosyphon cooling system. Well let me tell ya they were right. I pulled the radiator and the cast connector from between the lower radiator hose and the block. I used about 4 feet of old fuel line with a little scoop hammered into the end and raked about a half a quart of the nastiest looking brown sludge you have ever seen. I then poured water down the goose neck on the top of the block. It only took about 5 gallons before it ran clean. I haven't got it back together yet but it has to run cooler now. Thanks to who ever posted the original message a few months back.
