Yet another problem with the trusty old 856. The tractor revs on it's own and then proceeds to run rough and sputter for a minute or so. It does this at idle and under load. Any thoughts on what might be the cause?
I've been told that this is most likely a problem with the injector pump, or possibley the fuel filters need to be changed. Not sure when the last time the filters were changed, but I know my boss isn't real big on maintenance, so it was a while ago. The injector pump leaks a little diesel too. We were hoping to fix that after we were done feeding for the year, but this sputtering has got me worried.
Thanks in advance for the help. I'm relatively new to tractors and being the mechanic, so I really appreciate all the knowledge around here.
