Just bought a 1954 Super H serial number 26160 with a J suffix...couple of questions... 1. What is the J suffix...I don't see it in any of my books. 2. It has a wide front end on it. I don't know if it is original or not (I know there were several companies that offered aftermarket units). I gave it a quick inspection and did not notice any tags or casting codes that would indicate either an aftermarket or original unit. The one thing I noticed was that the steering gear was on the back of the axle as opposed to the front as in some pictures I have seen of regular Hs with wide fronts. Can anyone give me clues about how to determine the originality of the unit. 3. Any Super H owner...can you comment on parts availability...I can get almost anything for my Cub...but there were so few Super Hs made I am concerned. The parts that I know I need right now I have located. 4. It has the stage II hydraulics....what all can you do with the hydraulics? It has an aftermarket 3pt hitch with only 1 ram.
