Thanks everyone for all the pointers. I got all the intake and exhaust valves to free up without sticking, but now I noticed the start/compression release valves are stuck, and these are buried. I used my drill to free up the main valves, but now I may have to pull the head for the others. Fyi, I am able to turn the motor by hand via the fan blade, of course without the plugs in. other than possibly having to spend $200 on head gasket, my other concern is the injector pump, ouch if thats no good. Keep in mind I'm trying to see if this unit is worthy, before going to town. Thanks again, got about three days of work in it already, and surely many more to come.
