Ok...I have been stewing on this for a month or so now...I have been rebuilding my 51 H for three years...it has been completely, and I do mean completely taken apart...every bolt. Engine was hot tanked, crank turned, cam bearings installed at the machine shop, new stepped pistons, sleeves, bearings etc... We fired it up for the first time and ran like a champ...however, there is a light "knocking" sound. It seems like it could come from the gears in the front, or possibly #1 cylinder. Shoot me some ideas before I tear everything apart and more of my hair out...this tractor was my grandpa's and was a complete basket case...we have combined parts from three different H's to bring it back to life... Everything was torqued properly etc... Would a loose gear make a noise like that? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
