I have a 47 Super A that has a 6 volt generator with a cutout regulator. When I run it for 5 to 10 mins or more and the stop it, I hear this hissing of pressure coming from the battery. If I untwist the battery cap I hear the relief of pressure. This tells me that I am probably overcharging the battery. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I check if the regulator is cutting out when it should. My amp meter is not working so I cannot tell from that. I can put a voltmeter on it.
