Hi again all. I took a good look at the H today and I have a few more questions. Please bear with me. 1) There isn't a voltage regulator on the governor (still a 6-volt system) but there appears to be one on the steering support shaft under the gauge housing. 2) The negative cable from the battery is going to ground at one of the starter mounting bolts. The positive cable is going to the starter button, with the cable from there going to the starter and a smaller cable going (I'm guessing) to the ammeter gauge in the gauge housing)
Based on these observations, is the battery hooked up properly, and is the regulator for the generator as it should be? The ammeter does not work, nor does the battery charge, and the lights do not work/aren't hooked up. I was thinking of getting a complete wiring harness and going that route, but didn't know what I would need to replace as far as the voltage regulator to have it back operational and "stock". Thank you for your help. I could keep these tractors going without your help.
