Pawlicki said: (quoted from post at 11:37:06 09/29/09) I bought a 1100 IH sickle mower and all of the guards are worn out (I have the serrated ledger plate with the smooth sickle sections on the sickle bar).
Does anyone have any advice on what are the best and cheapest guards with the serrated ledger plate.
I have a Mills Fleet Farm near by but was wondering if any one bought some on line that were as good or better and cheaper.
I use serrated sickle sections and guards for a CaseIH 1020 head on my mower. The main thing about changing guards to this setup is changing all of the guards don't mix and match. I'm a mechanic for a Case Ih dealer so I keep my eyes on the scrap bin for used parts that are still serviceable. The sickle bar for a 1020 head is the same dimensions as the 1100 or the 1300 mowers.
