Thanks to all you folks who responded to my previous oil pressure questions. For those of you who just tuned in, I have a 1940 Farmall "H" that I am restoring. The engine starts and runs fine but after it warms up the oil pressure drops down to the red zone on the guage with the engine at idle, it does a little better when you speed up. The guage is new, I have taken the oil pump apart and checked it out and it seems to be fine. I replaced the spring in the pump and put it back together without a gasket as I found it. I have also replaced the rod bearings and the two main bearings that I could get to without removing the crank. I put in 40wt. oil on the advise of a friend and that helped a little but not much. Should I go to 50wt. oil? I'm not an expert mechanic and am at a loss for what to check next. I sure could use some input from all you Farmall fans out there. This is the first Farmall I've ever restored, my other tractor is Green!! Thanks in advance for any help!
