Thank you for the reply. Which way to turn the mag viewed from the coupling end when number one piston is top dead center on the compression stroke is my question. I agree that the mag should just be ready to trip on impulse . When turning clockwise one is turning the mag on impulse and it is difficult to set the mag in a position of just ready to trip and align the coupling with the drive on the engine . Turning the mag counter clockwise makes it easier to put the rotor in number one firing position. I have a wico mag and it does work by turning it counterclockwise to put the rotor in number one firing position. I sent the mag to a person in Bellingham Washington who works on mags.
