I have a 1950 M. Still set up with the standard 6 volt, positive ground..full stock system. The ammeter has been fluttering, and the tractor has been producing VERY little charge. I have done the following things. Replaced ALL wiring Had Generator rebuilt (and then checked again when the first rebuild made no change) Bought new voltage regulator Bought new battery I had a friend who is a professional mechanic working on antique farm equipment come by today...and we isolated each part, and cannot for the life of us find out why its not charging. A volt meter hooked up to the battery shows between 6.2 and 6.35...my friends feeling was that it should be reading more like 8.5. Is there something incredibly stupid we are overlooking? The tractor is my main motive power for my farming operation, and I'm tight on cash. Help!
