When you had your head off the machine shop could have remachined the exhaust manifold surface. The same can be done with the manifold if it is not to far gone. If it is then you will have to find a good used one or a new one might be avaiable for that tractor. Did you examine the cylinder bores when you had the head off? A cracked cyinder wall should be easy to see. Pressurising the cooling system and removing the oil pan will work good, you should be able to see were the collant is coming from.
