All of the suggestions have merit in my opinion. My process is a bit different: oil change with a quart of Rislone added to the new oil. Run for 5-10 hours. Change oil and filter. Rislone will clean most of the gunk and goop out.
Marvel mystery oil or blaster are great products to loosen loosen stuck rings. TVF (trans valve fix) is another product from the makers of Blaster that works well.
antifreeze in small amounts in the oil suggests that a head gasket needs to be replaced......usually.
I did this to a BN that sat for 2 years out side, and was not stuck. after this treatment, and 20-30 hours of moderate work pulling logs out of the woods, and hauling firewood, the smoking has decreased dramatically. smokes for 1-2 mins until it warms up, then it goes away completely.
I still need to pull the head and replace the head gasket, as it seeps antifreeze along the magneto side, and there is always about 1/4 cup of antifreeze in the oil.
