Tom, I'd wager you have an H or an M Farmall. If there is a tube running from the governor to the carb, front to back, that is probable. There are three things that can affect the tractor as described. One is a disconnected throttle linkage from the hand lever to the governor lever in back of the governor. Check this first. The hand lever should pull the governor lever all the way it can travel when wide open. Adjust it to do so. (springs and nuts on a threaded rod left side of engine) If this does not fix it, the next place to look is the prongs and tabs inside the tube leading to the carb from the governor. Two prongs on the shaft, and one on the carb throttle shaft. they must be interlocked, and are tricky to get correct. If it still has no throttle response it is probably inside the governor. Book needed!!! but doable in every way. JimN
